SUPERIOR CONTROL IN ALL CONDITIONS

590 USD650 USD

The V Max is all about freeriding made as simple as possible. This cam-free sail is easy to rig and easy to tune, light-weight, and easy to maneuver. But first of all, it is incredibly fast. The V Max appeals to freeride and freerace sailors of all levels who want to maximize the enjoyment of planing with minimal effort involved. With great low-end power, and locked-in stability the V Max is the best choice for the sailor who wants a cam-free, light-weight lightspeed sail.

The V Max features increased efficiency, utilizing traits passed down from our race sails. The enhanced shaping profile draws more energy from the mast, which results in exponentially increased power delivery. The new vertical shaping techniques allow us to create a more harmonious sail profile which results in a more even skin tension between all areas of the sail, providing a more balanced and effective rig.

RDM vs. SDM
The bend curve of the SDM and RDM’s are compatible with one another, but the RDM’s are more durable, therefore more suitable for punishing wave conditions. SDM’s provide a faster reflex response, better stability, and faster acceleration, especially in lengths of 460 cm or longer, therefore more suitable for flatwater sailing in the larger sizes.

1 // Six Batten Layout
// Six Batten Layout in all sizes for a stable and powerful freeride and freerace experience. Great low-end grunt for earlier up n’go.

2 // Deep locked in profile
Great low-end power, and locked in stability the V Max is the best choice for the sailor who wants a camber free, light-weight lightspeed sail.

3 // Kevlar Stretch Control Tendons
The Kevlar Stretch Control Tendons distribute the load throughout the surface of the sail from clew to luff. They control the breaking point for the twist, increase the wind range, and increase the longevity of the sail. An original Simmer Style feature that has been widely adopted by many other sail brands.

3 // Precision Tapered Battens
Precision Tapered Battens on the lower two battens. The taper is designed to push the sail profile forward and keep draft locked in for stability.

4 // Cutaway
The cutaway clew has an extremely positive influence on the sail’s agility and handling, and allows for a shorter, more rigid boom, as well as more direct acceleration.

5 MIL X-PLY
The most durable laminate scrim on the market. 100% polyester film, 150 microns thick, with high stretch resilience thread reinforcement in an X-pattern. The layers of film are bonded together with a UV resistance glue. The Icon features X-Ply paneling in the foot panel and clew area to handle wave sailing abuse in harsh conditions.

Made in USA.

MONOFILM
The V Max features lightweight monofilm for direct handling.

I love the V-Max! It's the non cam racing machine. There's no hassle when you're rigging it. It has no luff tube that fills up when it's in the water. But the main benefit is that the V-Max has the stability of a cambered sail, but the ease of use of a non cam sail. It feels light when you're gybing and it's super fast in a straight line.
